- To love, build up, and encourage the development of healthy and meaningful relationships with and among adults with developmental disabilities…with their friends, families, staff…and with God;
- To teach stories and basic truths from the Bible and encourage them
to talk about God, to put their faith and trust in Him, and to use the gifts God has given them to serve others both within the church and within their local communities…
- And to do so within the context of social and/or spiritually-focused events
or activities…great fun, food, and fellowship…provided in a safe and secure environment…and under the direction and support of loving Christian leaders
BRIEF OVERVIEW:
- Created nearly 30 years ago to serve the social and spiritual needs of post-high school age adults with developmental disabilities. We currently have up to 40+ members and staff who take an active role in planning and participating in weekly activities such as going to movies, eating in or out, celebrating birthdays, dancing, singing, karaoke, bingo, bowling, Putt-Putt, attending local events and activities, listening to and acting out Bible stories, praying, praising God with singing and signing, making crafts, doing skits, caring and sharing, doing service projects, etc. – you name it, we’ve done it! M&MF members’ favorite thing to do? That’s easy! M&MF members love to have fun, eat, and party! Most of all, they love God, their friends, their families, and each other! The only thing missing….is YOU!!!
